Teachers from California to Florida have enjoyed our unique style of Classroom Demonstrations. We will come to your classrooms and demonstrate effective strategies for teaching mathematics. Teachers and children alike enjoy the Classroom Demonstrations. Teachers love to watch their children in action with another teacher. They also appreciate seeing the mathematics and questioning techniques in action. Here is how it works. We will collaborate with a representative from your school or district to develop a model and schedule that will work best for your teachers and your children. Sometimes substitute teachers are hired to cover classrooms to allow several teachers to watch the demonstration lesson and attend a short debriefing session immediately after the lesson. Another option is to have a consultant in a classroom with only 1 teacher and his/her children. A classroom demonstration is usually 30-60 minutes in length, depending upon the age of the children. Demonstrations for younger children are shorter in length than those for older children. So, we can conduct several classroom demonstration lessons in one day. Many schools schedule after-school seminars following a day of Demonstration Lessons. Schools that have scheduled several days of demonstrations might arrange grade-level meetings. For example, if there were 3 days of demonstrations, we might conduct three separate after school meetings...grades K-1(Day One), grades 2-3 (Day Two), and grades 4-5 (Day Three). At these meetings we will discuss the demonstrations and set goals for the classroom teachers. Usually, additional Classroom Demonstrations are scheduled for a month or two later. This allows your teachers time to practice what they have learned, work to meet their goals, and be ready for more. We pride ourselves in the personalization of this service. Teachers and administrators have found our Classroom Demonstrations followed by debriefing sessions to be valuable. Do you want references? We will be happy to provide references, so you can discuss our Classroom Demonstrations with other teachers and administrators.
