Standards and Long Range Planning Print E-mail

Call us if you need help with the following:

  • Test Scores
  • Aggressive Math Standards
  • Curriculum Alignment
  • Managing the classroom
  • Changing times

Our consultants have specialized in helping schools and districts successfully implement their math standards and improve test scores at the same time.  The results have been outstanding.  If you are in need of this type of service, read on to learn more.

We will come into your school and/or district and guide your staff through the process of aligning of your existing curricula with local, state and national math standards. Our consultants have been working with National Math Standards for many, many years. Since we've worked in over 43 states, we are knowledgeable about the different standards in different states. In fact, many teachers and administrators are shocked to learn how well our consultants can rattle off standards and test requirements for individual states. When we come to work with you, your standards, your tests, your children, and your teachers will be our first priority.

In addition to studying standards, our consultants have been studying and developing effective teaching strategies to make individual state math standards really work. Because they are former classroom teachers, our consultants are very attuned to the reality of improving test scores. You will be most pleased with their suggestions and strategies for preparing children to succeed on all types of achievement tests. Your teachers will find that their guidance is common-sense, doable, and fun.  We will help you sift through the old as we identify materials and practices that will continue to be effective in getting the job done.  Likewise, we will help you identify weak areas and help guide you as you carefully add curriculum pieces to fill gaps.

Throughout this process, we will continue to view the alignment both vertically across the grade levels and horizontally within the grade levels to ensure that concepts and teaching strategies are linked in a spiraling effect. Likewise, we will maintain a balance between identifying what needs to be taught and how we are planning to teach it.  Methods, tools, and documents will be developed for assessing and evaluating individual and district progress. It is this balance that makes our service unique and effective.

Because systemic change takes time, we will work together to create a five-year plan. Each step along the way will determine new goals to be attained as a team. We will systematically work to do each step well, and build each new step upon the firm foundation of the previous step.

Your final product will not be the "same-old" stuff arranged differently.  And you will not end up with a "cloned" plan from another district. Instead, you will have a personalized meaningful document that will lead to personalized meaningful change. Who will benefit? Your children, of course.
